Estafany with the minnows we captured the night before. These are fried and eatten with scrambled eggs...not as delicious as one would think.

The all-season campo-dweller must-have item, plastic slide-on shoes. Jellies live!

Reina and I checking out the nasa. A nasa is a fishing device made out of reeds and placed in a stream where the current is strong. Minnows swim into it and the leaves at the other end filter through the water while they are held back.

As you can see, minnows aren´t all that gets trapped in the nasa. There are also fresh water eels. The eels in the streams here are large and look like water snakes. They are creepy but don´t bite and are generally, scared of people.
